Your trust matters more to us than your data. This policy explains, in plain English, what information ClipDaily collects through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
At a glance
- The only personal information we ask for is your email address, and only if you join the early-access list.
- We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
- No analytics, no tracking pixels, and no cookies.
- You can ask us to see or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are
ClipDaily is an AI short-video tool for founders, indie hackers, and marketers. It is currently in development and run by its founder, Tony Vu. In this policy, “ClipDaily,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to ClipDaily, and “you” refers to anyone who visits clipdaily.app.
For the purposes of data protection laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ClipDaily is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@clipdaily.app.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers the public ClipDaily website, including the homepage, FAQ, contact, and privacy pages, and the early-access list. It does not cover the ClipDaily product itself, which has not launched yet. See When ClipDaily launches below.
3. Information we collect
We collect as little as we can. Here is everything, grouped by where it comes from.
Information you give us
- Your email address, if you join the early-access list through the form on our homepage.
- The contents of any email you send us, including your name and email address and anything you choose to include.
Information collected automatically
- Standard connection data. Like almost every website, our hosting provider receives technical information when your browser loads a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time. This is used to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Requests for fonts and images. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and preview images from Unsplash, so those providers receive similar connection data when your browser fetches them.
Information stored only on your device
- Your colour theme preference. If you switch to dark mode, your browser saves that choice locally (see Cookies and browser storage). It never leaves your device.
What we don’t collect
We don’t ask for or collect your name on the website, passwords, payment details, precise location, social media accounts, or any sensitive personal information. We don’t buy data about you from other companies.
4. How we use your information
We use your information only for the purposes below. For visitors in the EU and UK, we have also listed the legal basis we rely on.
| Purpose | Information used | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Sending you early-access invitations and launch updates | Email address | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Replying to your questions and requests | Your email and its contents | Our legitimate interest in responding to you, or taking steps at your request |
| Running the website securely and preventing spam and abuse | Connection data | Our legitimate interest in operating a safe, reliable website |
| Meeting legal obligations and protecting our rights | Any of the above, only where needed | Legal obligation, or our legitimate interests |
We will not use your email address for any other purpose, such as marketing other companies’ products, without asking you first. We do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We don’t set any cookies. The only thing this website stores on your device is your colour theme preference, saved in your browser’s local storage under the key clipdaily-theme. It is not sent to us or anyone else. You can delete it at any time through your browser’s settings for site data.
We don’t use analytics tools, advertising pixels, session recording, or any other tracking technologies. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website, and only as much as they need to provide their service:
- Web3Forms receives the email address you enter in the early-access form and delivers it to us (privacy policy).
- Vercel hosts the website and processes connection data to deliver and protect it (privacy policy).
- Google Fonts serves the fonts used on the site (privacy policy).
- Unsplash serves the preview photographs used on the site (privacy policy).
- Our email provider stores the emails we receive at hello@clipdaily.app and the messages we send.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety, or property of ClipDaily, our users, or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. In that case, we would make sure your information remains protected under terms at least as strong as this policy and would let you know.
7. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries outside the one you live in. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer for international transfers, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep information
- Early-access email addresses are kept until you ask us to remove you, unsubscribe, or we no longer need them to tell you about ClipDaily’s launch, whichever comes first.
- Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to handle your request, and then for a reasonable period in case you follow up.
- Connection data is kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention policies.
When we no longer need information, we delete it.
9. How we protect information
The whole website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to the early-access list and our inbox is limited to the ClipDaily team, and we only work with established service providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where the law requires it.
10. Your rights and choices
You are in control of your information. Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your information, including removing you from the early-access list.
- Withdraw your consent to receiving launch updates at any time. Every update email will include a way to unsubscribe.
- Object to or restrict how we use your information, or ask us to transfer it to you in a portable format.
To make a request, email hello@clipdaily.app. We will reply within 30 days, and we won’t charge you or treat you differently for exercising your rights. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you before acting on it.
For visitors in the EU and UK
You have the rights listed above under the GDPR. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
For California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, and to ask us to delete or correct it. In the past 12 months, we have collected only the categories described in Information we collect (identifiers such as your email address and internet activity such as connection data), for the purposes in How we use your information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we don’t track you across websites or sell your information, there is nothing to opt out of. We respect Global Privacy Control signals all the same.
11. Children’s privacy
ClipDaily is built for founders, marketers, and other adults. The website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Links to other websites
Our website links to other sites, such as the privacy policies of our service providers. We aren’t responsible for how those sites handle information, so we recommend reading their privacy policies.
13. When ClipDaily launches
The ClipDaily product will handle more information than this website does, such as product links you submit, the videos you generate, and the social media accounts you connect for scheduled posting. Before the product launches, we will publish an updated privacy policy explaining exactly what it collects, how connected accounts are used, and the controls you have. We will only access your social media accounts with your permission, and only to do what you ask, such as publishing videos you have scheduled.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as ClipDaily grows. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we will tell you before it takes effect, including by email if you’re on the early-access list.
15. Contact us
Questions, requests, or concerns about your privacy? Email hello@clipdaily.app. A real person, usually our founder, reads every message.
